MYRTLE
Myrtle was a Dragon, all pink and blue and green,
She was the nicest Dragon that anyone had seen.
The knights who went to slay her said sadly, with a sigh,
That Myrtle was too gentle - too beautiful to die.
The knights they talked together to save their fiery friend,
cept one bad knight called Jasper, sitting at the end
Said phooey to his fellow knights Ive heard enough of that,
And off he went to Dragonland with Lucifer his cat.
For forty days and forty nights the nasty Jasper rode,
Living from his saddlebag from legs of bat and toad,
Till at last he got there, terrible and brave
And dismounted from his trusty steed at the door to Myrtles cave.
Myrtle came to greet him and blinked a purple eye
And Jasper told the Dragon that she would surely die.
He raised his sword to strike her, but distracted by a bat,
Who should trip old Jasper up but Lucifer the cat !
The villain knight went sprawling without a single word,
The reason he was speechless was hed fallen on his sword.
The other knights when told of this, did finally decide
To send off word to Myrtle that she didnt have to hide.
So, if you see a Dragon, all pink and blue and green,
The nicest looking dragon that you have ever seen,
Dont be surprised if you see, sitting on a mat
Outside her cave, the trusty steed, and Lucifer the cat.
